Team LA – Thank You Letter
We continue to hear stories everyday about the impact you had on our transplant recipients’ lives by supporting them to compete in the 2014 Transplant Games of America. One kidney recipient said, “Besides my marriage and the birth of my child, the experience was a highlight of my entire life.” Another heart recipient said, “I have always felt alone and like I never fit in anywhere; now I finally feel like I have a place that I belong.” Being able to connect with so many other transplant recipients, living donors, and donor families, and compete in an athletic event for the first time, was both an inspiring and hope-filled experience.
Thank you for helping us to spread awareness about the importance of organ, tissue and eye donation. Your generosity will hopefully help to save some of the lives of the 123,000 currently waiting for an organ transplant.
Below are links to the latest video coverage of the Games. If you would like us, or any of the athletes who participated in this year’s Games, to speak at your agency, please let us know. If you would like to join our steering committee which will be preparing for the 2016 Transplant Games in Cleveland, we would love to have your participation.
Thank you again for your life-giving support!
